FLC Ha Long Bay Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-71 course built into the hills above Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh Province. Four holes run directly along the bay, and the signature par-5 12th drops 40 metres toward the UNESCO-listed karsts. Opened in 2017 and designed by Schmidt-Curley, it sits inside the FLC Ha Long resort itself.

FLC Ha Long Bay Golf Club: Golf Built Into the Cliffs Above Ha Long Bay
The routing climbs and drops through the hillside behind FLC Ha Long Bay Golf Club & Luxury Resort, so almost no two holes play at the same elevation. Four holes run right along the water, and the par-5 12th is the one people talk about afterward: 555 metres, a fairway that bends around an outcrop, then a 40-metre drop to a green with Ha Long Bay’s limestone islands stacked behind it. Five par-3 holes are spread through the round rather than bunched together, which keeps the pace honest even when the wind off the bay picks up in the afternoon.
Schmidt-Curley, the design firm behind several of the region’s better-known layouts, opened the course in 2017 and kept the shaping close to the original terrain instead of flattening it. Paspalum runs tee to green, which holds up well in the salt air this close to the coast. It is not a course for a first-timer chasing a low score. The elevation changes punish a mis-hit more than a flat inland layout would, and caddies here earn their fee reading the wind off the water on the exposed holes.
The course sits inside the FLC Ha Long Bay Golf Club & Luxury Resort itself, so golfers staying at the hotel can walk to the first tee rather than transfer across the city. That also means FLC Ha Long Bay is currently the only course we list for the Hai Phong – Ha Long region. Golfers building a longer northern Vietnam trip typically pair it with the Hanoi courses about three hours away rather than a second round in Quang Ninh.
