Golf in Nha Trang (2026): Four Courses, Real Drive Times, Where to Stay and How Many Days You Need

Seaside green and bunkers at ANARA Binh Tien Golf Club

Last updated: 9 October 2026

Golf in Nha Trang means four 18-hole courses, but they are not all in Nha Trang. One sits on an island across the bay, one on the coast road south of the city, and two are closer to Cam Ranh airport than to the beachfront hotels. That spread is the single thing most first-time visitors get wrong, and it decides where you should stay, how many rounds fit in a day and how long the trip needs to be.

Quick Answer

Golf in Nha Trang means four 18-hole courses spread from Hon Tre island to Cam Ranh. Vinpearl Golf and Diamond Bay are close to the city; KN Golf Links and ANARA Binh Tien are nearer the airport. Stay in Cam Ranh if KN is the priority, in the city if you want restaurants plus Vinpearl or Diamond Bay. Plan three to five days.

How many golf courses are there in Nha Trang?

Four full-length courses serve the Nha Trang area, all 18 holes and all open to visitors: Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang on Hon Tre island, Diamond Bay Golf & Villas south of the city, KN Golf Links Cam Ranh on Bai Dai beach near the airport, and ANARA Binh Tien Golf Club further south along the coast. KN also has a separate nine-hole course, The Oasis, which makes it the only 27-hole venue in the area.

Each course is a different kind of golf. Vinpearl is a hillside course above the sea, reached by speedboat. Diamond Bay is a resort course with mountains behind it. KN is a links laid out in sand dunes by Greg Norman. ANARA is the newest, opened in April 2022, and has floodlights on every hole. At all four, a caddie and a golf cart are compulsory, and in our packages both are included.

The four courses compared

The table puts the essentials side by side. Drive times were checked on Google Maps in October 2026 and are by road in normal traffic; the course facts come from each club.

Course Designer Holes / par Signature Night golf From city centre From Cam Ranh airport
Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang IMG Worldwide 18 holes, par 71, 6,787 yd Island course on Hon Tre, sea views from the hills Vinpearl lists a lighting system on all 18 holes About 12 min to Cau Da pier, then about 10 min by speedboat Over an hour, including the boat
Diamond Bay Golf & Villas Andy Dye 18 holes, par 72, 7,244 yd Par-3 12th, the “smiling hole” Not published by the club About 20–25 min (11–12 km) Closer to the city than to the airport
KN Golf Links Cam Ranh Greg Norman The Links: 18 holes, par 72, 7,165 yd; plus The Oasis (9 holes) Dune links on Bai Dai; Best New Golf Course Asia Pacific 2018 Not published by the club About 55 min (42 km) About 15 min (11 km)
ANARA Binh Tien Golf Club Golfplan 18 holes, par 72, around 7,000 yd Par-3 13th right on the sea Yes, all 18 holes lit About 1 hour About 40 min

Two numbers in that table differ from what you may read elsewhere. KN Golf Links is not 20 minutes from Nha Trang: it is about 55 minutes from the beachfront by road, because it sits on the Cam Ranh peninsula, 42 km south. And it is about 15 minutes from the airport, not five. Both matter when you plan a tee time.

City, island or Cam Ranh: how the courses are spread out

KN Golf Links is on the Cam Ranh peninsula, about 15 minutes from the airport and 55 from the city.

Think of the area as a line running south along the coast, about 60 km long, with the city at the top and the airport near the bottom.

  • The city and the bay. Nha Trang’s hotels, restaurants and beach line Tran Phu street. Vinpearl Golf is directly offshore on Hon Tre island; you drive about 12 minutes to Cau Da pier and cross by speedboat in roughly 10 minutes.
  • The coast road south. Diamond Bay is 11–12 km south of the centre, about 20–25 minutes by car, still within easy reach of a city hotel.
  • The Cam Ranh peninsula. Bai Dai beach, KN Golf Links and the international airport sit together about 40 km south of the city. The airport to the city centre is about 50–55 minutes (38 km).
  • Further south. ANARA Binh Tien is around 40 minutes beyond the airport and about an hour from Nha Trang. The area was in Ninh Thuan province until 2025 and is now part of Khanh Hoa.

The practical result: a round at KN from a city hotel costs close to two hours in the car, there and back, while a round at Vinpearl from a Cam Ranh resort means a long drive north plus the boat. Neither is a problem once, but over three or four rounds the base you choose adds up.

Which course suits you?

There is no single best golf course in Nha Trang; each one suits a different golfer.

  • KN Golf Links suits players who want a proper links: firm, wind-exposed and framed by dunes. It is the strongest test of the four and the easiest to play on the day you land or the day you fly out.
  • Vinpearl Golf suits golfers who want the scenery: elevated tees, the bay below and an island setting. The boat crossing is part of the day, so allow extra time.
  • Diamond Bay is the convenient choice from the city, with wide fairways, mountain views and the memorable par-3 12th. It works well as a first round or for a mixed-ability group.
  • ANARA Binh Tien is the newest course and is set up for night golf, with floodlights on all 18 holes, so a late-afternoon tee time can run past sunset. The seaside 13th is the hole people photograph.

Most visiting golfers play two or three of the four. If you can only play two, KN and Diamond Bay cover links and resort golf without needing the boat; swap one for Vinpearl if the island setting is what drew you to Nha Trang.

Where to stay: Nha Trang city or Cam Ranh?

Lagoon pool and thatched pool villas at Ana Mandara Cam Ranh on Bai Dai beach, near KN Golf Links
Ana Mandara Cam Ranh on Bai Dai, the beach shared with KN Golf Links and the airport.

The choice is between a beach resort near the airport and the golf at KN, or a city hotel near restaurants, the night market and the boat to Vinpearl.

Base Closest courses Best for Trade-off
Cam Ranh (Bai Dai) KN Golf Links about 15 min; Diamond Bay about 20 min Quiet beach resorts, KN rounds, early or late flights Restaurants and nightlife are an hour away in the city
Nha Trang city (Tran Phu) Diamond Bay about 20–25 min; Vinpearl via Cau Da pier Restaurants, beach walks, non-golfers, Vinpearl Golf About 55 min each way to KN
Hon Tre island Vinpearl Golf on the same island A resort stay built around one course Every other course means the boat plus a drive

In Cam Ranh, Ana Mandara Cam Ranh is a 5-star resort on Bai Dai that opened in 2022, with two outdoor pools and a spa. In the city, Novotel Nha Trang is a 4-star hotel at 50 Tran Phu, about three minutes on foot from the beach and two from the night market. Asia Paradise Hotel is a 3-star city option a short walk from the sea, and Vinpearl Luxury Nha Trang is an 84-villa resort on Hon Tre for golfers who want to stay beside the island course.

A simple rule: if two of your rounds are at KN or ANARA, stay in Cam Ranh. If two are at Vinpearl or Diamond Bay, or someone in the group does not play, stay in the city.

How many days do you need for golf in Nha Trang?

Flights into Cam Ranh decide much of the shape of the trip, so count golf days, not calendar days.

Trip length Rounds How it usually runs
3 days, 2 nights 1–2 Arrive, play KN on the way in or the next morning, Diamond Bay on day 2 if the flight allows
4 days, 3 nights 2 Arrival day free, KN and Diamond Bay on days 2 and 3, departure day free
5 days, 4 nights 3 Add Vinpearl Golf and a free beach day between rounds

Four days is the length most golfers choose: two rounds on mainland courses, no boat needed and a full day on each side for travel. It is how our four-day Nha Trang trip with KN and Diamond Bay runs. A five-day version adds the island course and a day off; one longer trip can also include ANARA for night golf. Travelling with your own clubs? Check each airline's golf bag allowance before you book flights into Cam Ranh. Most visitors also need to check whether they need a visa; the current entry rules and e-visa steps for golfers are in a separate guide.

Best time to play golf in Nha Trang

Nha Trang has one of the longest dry seasons in Vietnam. Local travel guides put it from January to August, with the rainy season from September to December, when the central coast also gets most of its storms (localvietnam.com, February 2025). For golf, January to April is the most comfortable stretch, with sunshine and cooler mornings; May to August is hotter, so early tee times are worth booking. In the rainy months, rounds are still possible between showers, but keep a spare day in the plan. A full month-by-month guide to Nha Trang golf weather is coming.

Golf plus beach: what non-golfers do in Nha Trang

Nha Trang is a beach city first, which makes it easy for a partner who does not play. The six-kilometre beach along Tran Phu is walkable from the city hotels, and day trips by boat to the islands in the bay are the classic outing. On land, the Po Nagar Cham towers above the river mouth and the mud-bath spas on the edge of the city are the usual half-day trips, with the night market and seafood restaurants for the evenings. On Hon Tre, the VinWonders theme park shares the island with the golf course, so a family can cross on the same boat as the golfer.

In Cam Ranh, the pace is slower: the resorts along Bai Dai are built for days by the pool and on the sand, with the city an hour away for a dinner out.

Nha Trang or Da Nang for a golf beach trip?

Both are beach destinations on the central coast with direct international flights. The differences are in the layout and the courses.

Nha Trang Da Nang
Courses Four 18-hole courses spread over about 60 km, including an island course More courses, most along the coast between Da Nang and Hoi An
Airport Cam Ranh, about 50–55 min from the city, 15 min from KN In the city, close to most hotels
Night golf ANARA lit on all 18 holes; Vinpearl lists lighting Several courses offer night golf
Best for Links golf at KN, an island round, a quiet beach resort Shorter transfers, more course choice, Hoi An nearby

If you are deciding between the two, our look at how a golf and beach holiday works in Da Nang sets out the other side. Many golfers who know Da Nang come to Nha Trang for KN Golf Links and the island course.
