Every month in this window has its own reason for being busy, and they are not the same reason. Here is how the season actually unfolds from where we sit, taking bookings.
September 2026 — tournament weeks. The Vietnam World Masters Golf Championship runs 6–12 and 13–19 September in Da Nang, bringing several hundred international golfers into the city at once. September is normally a quiet shoulder month here, which is exactly why this catches people out: tee times and hotel rooms around those two weeks tighten in a way the calendar would not lead you to expect. October and November — the early-booking months. This is rain season on paper, and it is also when Australian and Korean groups lock in their escape-the-winter trips. The two facts sit oddly together until you realise most of those enquiries are for travel in January through March, not for October itself. Mid-December to early January — Christmas and New Year. Beachfront hotel rates climb, and family groups take up the twin rooms that golf groups also want. Weekend morning tee times are the first thing to disappear. Anyone travelling over Christmas should have hotels confirmed before the golf, which is the reverse of the usual order.
Mid-February 2027 — Tet. The hardest fortnight of the year to arrange late. Vietnamese golfers, overseas Vietnamese coming home, and Korean travellers on their own holiday all land in the same window. Some off-course services close for a few days over the holiday itself, so an itinerary that runs smoothly in November needs more care in February. Two to three months of lead time is the honest recommendation, and we typically start receiving Tet enquiries in November. February through April 2027 — the best golf of the year. Cool, dry, settled. It is also when weekend slots at the flagship courses, Ba Na Hills and Hoiana Shores in particular, go first, because Korean and Taiwanese group demand lands on the same dates. Not everything tightens at the same rate, and knowing the order tells you what to lock down first when your dates are fixed but your budget is not yet approved.

Our team has found the groups who struggle are rarely the ones who booked late overall. What we need to hold a high season date
A question that comes up once people realise the dates are tighter than expected: what actually reserves a slot, and how firm does the plan have to be before you enquire?
Less firm than most people assume. To start holding tee times we need the travel dates, the number of golfers, and a rough idea of which courses matter to you. Names, handicaps, room configurations and the exact playing order can all follow later. Groups often delay the enquiry until everyone has confirmed, and that delay is what costs them the Saturday morning slot rather than any decision they made afterwards.
Deposits work the same way. Courses release peak dates against a confirmed booking rather than an expression of interest, so at some point a commitment is needed. But the sequence that works is: enquire early with approximate details, see what is genuinely available for those dates, then firm up. Enquiring is not committing, and in September and October it costs you nothing to find out what February looks like.
One practical note on changes. Peak dates are harder to move than off-peak dates, for the obvious reason that the slot you release gets taken. If your group has a member whose dates are uncertain, tell us at the enquiry stage rather than after confirmation, and we will build the itinerary around courses with more flexibility.
Three mistakes that cost high season groups
Booking flights before golf. The most common one, and the hardest to unwind. Flights are cheap to compare and easy to book online, so they get done first, and then the trip has to fit whatever the tee sheet allows. Reverse it: check the golf availability for your window, then buy the flights around it. It costs nothing to ask.
Assuming a public holiday at home is quiet here. It is usually the opposite. If your school holiday or long weekend is driving your dates, the same is true for a lot of other golfers in your market, and Korean and Taiwanese holiday calendars overlap with Central Vietnam peaks more than people expect.
Leaving the group size open. Twelve golfers is a different booking from four, and the difference cannot be resolved late. If your group might grow from eight to twelve, say so at the start. Holding the extra slots and releasing them is straightforward; finding them three weeks out on a February Saturday is not.
Booking late: what you can still get
Plenty, if you are flexible about two things.
The first is the day. A Tuesday or Wednesday round in February is a different market from a Saturday round in February, and the gap is wider here than at most Asian destinations. Groups who shift a weekend round to midweek routinely get the course they wanted plus a better rate.
The second is the order of play. If Hoiana Shores on Saturday morning is gone, the trip is not gone with it. Moving your premium round to the Thursday and putting a mid-range course on the weekend usually rescues the whole itinerary, and most groups cannot tell you afterwards which day they played what.
What we cannot fix late is a group of twelve wanting consecutive slots at one course on a peak Saturday. That is the booking that needs the lead time, and it is worth knowing which category you fall into before you decide the enquiry can wait.
