Four courses around Hanoi play 18 holes under floodlights, and a fifth is listed with late hours but still unconfirmed. Long Bien is the one inside the city, 20–30 minutes from the Old Quarter. BRG Legend Hill and Hanoi Golf Club sit together in Soc Son on the airport side. Heron Lake, the newest, switched its lights on in April 2026.
Which one suits you depends less on the golf than on two things you already know: where you are sleeping, and what time your flight lands or leaves.
Quick Answer
Yes, you can play night golf in Hanoi. Four courses are floodlit: Long Bien (27 holes, 20–30 minutes from the Old Quarter), BRG Legend Hill and Hanoi Golf Club (both in Soc Son near Noi Bai Airport), and Heron Lake in Vinh Phuc, which added lighting to all 18 holes in April 2026. Long Bien is the easiest after dinner in town.
Which Hanoi golf courses have night golf?
Four have confirmed floodlights, and they fall into three zones: one in the city, two beside the airport, one out at Dam Vac Lake. Everything in the table below was checked against the sources named in September 2026.
| Course | Holes lit | From the Old Quarter | Lit since | Best for | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Long Bien Golf Course | Floodlit 27-hole complex; lit nines vary by night | 20–30 min | Year not published | A round after dinner; your arrival evening | Club information |
| BRG Legend Hill Golf Resort | 18 | About 40 min; 15 min from Noi Bai | October 2015 | Before a late-night flight out | Club lighting launch, October 2015 |
| Hanoi Golf Club (Minh Tri) | 18 of 27 | About 40 km north, Soc Son | 2019 | A second airport-side option | Hanoi Golf Club official site |
| Heron Lake Golf Course & Resort | 18 | About 45 min, Vinh Phuc | 15 April 2026 | Moving a full round into the cool of the evening | Tien Phong newspaper (June 2026) |
| BRG Kings Island Golf Resort | Not confirmed | 45–60 min | — | Check before booking | Late hours listed; lighting unconfirmed |
Drive times are from central Hanoi and match our own transfer planning. Lit tee times change with the season at every club, so the last lit tee time is something we confirm at booking rather than print here. Is Long Bien the best night golf course in Hanoi?
For most visitors, yes, and the reason is geography rather than design. Long Bien Golf Course is 20–30 minutes from the Old Quarter, so you can eat in town, take a car across the Red River and be on the tee inside an hour.
The course is a Nelson & Haworth design: 27 holes split into three nines (A, B and C) on Paspalum fairways. Long Bien markets itself as open around the clock, and in summer it is common to tee off after 6pm and walk off between 10 and 11pm. Treat the “24/7” line as marketing, not a promise that every nine is lit every night — which nines run under lights varies, and we check on the day.
GoGolfVietnam offers Long Bien as the optional arrival-evening nine on its six-day Hanoi itinerary, because it is only 20–30 minutes from the Old Quarter. If your flight lands in the afternoon, a twilight nine at Long Bien turns a lost travel day into a first look at Hanoi golf, and you are back at the hotel before it gets late.
Can you play night golf near Noi Bai Airport?
Yes — two courses in Soc Son district, north of the city, have floodlights, and both are close to the terminal. That makes them the natural choice around flights rather than around dinner.
BRG Legend Hill Golf Resort, the Jack Nicklaus layout about 15 minutes from Noi Bai, switched on lights for its full 18 holes on 24 October 2015, which made it the fourth floodlit course in northern Vietnam at the time. Lit play there usually runs until around 10pm; we confirm the last tee time when booking. Neighbouring Hanoi Golf Club at Minh Tri, a 27-hole course, opened an 18-hole night-light system in 2019 and says on its official site that night golf runs every day of the week. Its night-golf notice set tee-offs between 15:00 and 17:00, “subject to seasonal change”, so the window is worth reconfirming.

The use case is a late flight. Check out of the hotel, play under the lights in Soc Son, shower at the clubhouse and reach the terminal in minutes rather than fighting the city traffic. If you are working out which courses fit which day of the trip, our guide to which courses sit on the airport side of the city maps the transfers course by course.
What is night golf like at Heron Lake?
Heron Lake Golf Course & Resort is the newest lit course in the north: it opened night golf on 15 April 2026 across all 18 holes, and marked it with a “Light Up Heron Lake” evening on 30 May 2026. It sits beside Dam Vac Lake in Vinh Phuc, about 45 minutes from Hanoi.
Heron Lake is too far for an impulse round after dinner. What it does well is replace a hot daytime round with a comfortable evening one. The opening-week green fees published in April were launch pricing and are not a guide to current rates, which we confirm when we quote.
GoGolfVietnam, a golf tour operator based in Vietnam, has already built this into the six-day, four-round trip with an evening option at Heron Lake. Its Heron Lake day can move to a lit tee time on request, and that itinerary also has an optional twilight nine at Long Bien on arrival day.
Do BRG Kings Island, Dai Lai or Tam Dao have night golf?
Possibly, but none is confirmed well enough for us to promise it. BRG Kings Island is listed with opening hours to 23:00, yet nothing we found says which of its courses carries lights. We confirm which course is lit before booking and do not assume.
Dai Lai Star and Tam Dao in Vinh Phuc are also listed with late closing times. Neither is a course we have checked for lighting, so treat both as “ask first”. Sky Lake, Van Tri, Phoenix, Thanh Lanh and Chi Linh have no floodlights that we could find.
When is night golf worth it in Hanoi?
In summer, night golf is the sensible way to play; in winter it is a cold novelty. Hanoi has four real seasons, and that decides how useful the lights are.
From May to August, daytime highs sit around 27–33°C with heavy humidity and short afternoon downpours, so an evening round beats noon on every count. From December to February the calculation flips: the coldest mornings drop to 10–15°C, evenings are cool enough to need a proper jacket, and fog over the lakes can reduce visibility. Spring and autumn are comfortable at any hour, so the lights become a scheduling tool rather than an escape. The full calendar, with rainfall and fog timing, is in what each month of the Hanoi golf calendar feels like.
This is where Hanoi differs from Da Nang. In the centre, night golf is mainly a way around the heat all year. In the north it is seasonal: most useful in June and July, optional in October, and something to think twice about in January.
How do you fit a night round into a golf trip?
Use the lights to reclaim the two days that usually go to waste: arrival and departure. That is the whole trick, and it works because the lit courses happen to sit where travellers need them.
- Afternoon arrival: land, check in, twilight nine at Long Bien in the evening.
- Late-night departure: check out, lit round at Legend Hill or Hanoi Golf Club, then the short hop to Noi Bai.
- Midsummer: swap one hot daytime round for an evening round at Heron Lake.
We normally recommend one lit round per trip, not three. Night golf is fun, but a morning round the next day after a 10pm finish is a hard start, and most groups sleep better on one late night than on several. If you want the planning done for you, Hanoi itineraries that leave room for a round under the lights can be adjusted around your flight times.
What should you know before your first night round?
Floodlit golf plays slightly differently. Five things make the first night easier:
- Bring bright balls. White balls are fine under the lights, but yellow or orange are much easier to find off the fairway, where lighting is weaker.
- Pack insect repellent. Courses built around water, Heron Lake above all, attract insects under the lights in the warm months.
- Dress for the season. Summer means a spare dry shirt; December to February means a windproof layer you can take off on the back nine.
- Book ahead for weekends. We reserve weekend lit tee times three to five days ahead; weekdays are more forgiving.
- Confirm the lit nines on the day. Clubs do not always light every hole every night, particularly on multi-course sites.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can you play golf at night in Hanoi?›
Yes. Four courses around Hanoi are floodlit: Long Bien in the city, BRG Legend Hill and Hanoi Golf Club in Soc Son near Noi Bai Airport, and Heron Lake in Vinh Phuc, which lit all 18 holes in April 2026.
2. Which Hanoi golf course is open 24 hours?›
Long Bien Golf Course markets itself as open around the clock and is the closest lit course to the Old Quarter, 20–30 minutes away. Which of its three nines is lit varies by night, so confirm before you go.
3. How much is night golf in Hanoi?›
It depends on the course, the day and the season, and clubs change lit-hour rates often. Heron Lake’s April 2026 prices were launch-week promotions. We quote current night rates when you book rather than publish figures that go out of date.
4. Can I play night golf on my arrival day?›
Yes, if you land by the afternoon. A twilight nine at Long Bien, 20–30 minutes from the Old Quarter, is the easiest way to play on arrival day, and you are back at your hotel the same evening.
5. Is night golf in Hanoi cheaper than daytime?›
Not as a rule. Some clubs have priced late-afternoon weekend slots below weekend mornings, while others charge more for lit hours. Compare the exact tee time you want rather than assuming night is the budget option.
6. Is it too cold for night golf in Hanoi in winter?›
It is cold but playable. From December to February the coldest mornings drop to 10–15°C and an open fairway after dark feels just as chilly, with fog over the lakes on some nights. Bring a windproof layer, or save the lights for summer.
7. Do I need to book night tee times in advance?›
For weekends, yes: we book three to five days ahead. Weekday evenings are easier, but the last lit tee time changes by season, so confirm it when you book.
