The best time to play golf in Nha Trang is the dry season, from about January to August, and the most comfortable stretch within it is February to April. Nha Trang’s weather runs on a different clock from Hanoi’s: there is no cool winter, just a long dry spell followed by a wetter, stormier autumn from September to December. This guide covers what each month means for a golf trip, how the weather affects each of the four courses and when to tee off. For the courses themselves, where to stay and how long to go for, start with our complete Nha Trang golf guide.
Quick Answer
The best time to play golf in Nha Trang is January to August, the dry season. February to April is the most pleasant, with calm seas and milder heat; May to August is hotter, so book early tee times. September to December is the rainy season, wettest in October and November, with occasional storms. Golf is still possible, but keep the schedule flexible.
Nha Trang golf seasons at a glance
Three travel guides agree on the broad pattern: dry from January to August, wetter from September to December. InterContinental Nha Trang puts typical temperatures at about 25–30°C, and VietnamTourism.com notes that daytime temperatures rarely drop below 25°C even in the rainy months. For golfers, that means the question is rain and wind, not cold.
| Season | Months | Weather | For golf | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dry, mild | February to April | Sunny, lower humidity, calm seas | The most comfortable months for golf | Busier around Lunar New Year |
| Dry, hot | May to August | Hottest part of the year, still mostly dry | Good golf if you start early | Midday heat; afternoon storms can build in summer |
| Wet | September to December | More rain, heaviest in October and November; rougher seas | Possible, with a flexible plan | Storm bands, boat disruption to Vinpearl |
| Transition | January | Rain eases, dry season begins | Good, and quieter than February | Some showers early in the month |
Sources: InterContinental Nha Trang travel guide (updated July 2026); VietnamTourism.com (updated August 2026); vinpearl.com (October 2025). Vinpearl’s guide starts the rainy season in October rather than September, so treat September as a transition month.
Best time to play golf in Nha Trang, month by month
The table is qualitative on purpose. Rain in Nha Trang arrives in spells rather than on a timetable, so the useful question is how likely a month is to cost you a round.
| Month | Conditions | Golf verdict |
|---|---|---|
| January | Dry season begins; showers become rarer | Good; often quieter than February |
| February | Dry, mild, seas calming | Very good; book early around Lunar New Year |
| March | Dry, sunny, calm seas | Excellent |
| April | Dry, warming up, calm seas | Excellent |
| May | Dry and hotter | Very good with an early tee time |
| June | Among the hottest months | Good early or late in the day |
| July | Hot, mostly dry; occasional afternoon storms | Good early in the day |
| August | Hot, end of the dry season | Good early in the day |
| September | Transition; rain and storm risk rising | Fair; leave a spare day |
| October | Rainy season, one of the wettest months | Fair to poor; keep the plan flexible |
| November | Rainy season peak; rough seas | Poor to fair; mainland courses only on bad days |
| December | Rain easing towards the end of the month | Fair; better late in the month |
What the weather means at each course

The four courses react differently to the same day’s weather, which is why the order of rounds matters more in Nha Trang than in most places.
KN Golf Links Cam Ranh. A Greg Norman links laid out among dunes on Bai Dai beach, with little shelter from the sea. Whatever wind is blowing plays a full part, and in the storm months from September to November the outer bands of passing storms can bring strong wind as well as rain (VietnamTourism.com).

Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang. The island course is about 10 minutes by speedboat from Cau Da pier, so sea conditions matter as much as rain. Seas are calm from mid-February to May and rougher from September to December, when boat trips can be limited (InterContinental Nha Trang; VietnamTourism.com). Vinpearl lists tee times from 06:00.
Diamond Bay Golf & Villas. On the mainland about 20–25 minutes south of the city, with no boat and a short drive. That makes it the natural backup on a rainy-season day when the sea is up.
ANARA Binh Tien Golf Club. Floodlights on all 18 holes mean you can tee off in the late afternoon and finish in the cooler evening, a real advantage from May to August. It is about an hour from Nha Trang and 40 minutes from the airport.
Golfing in the rainy season (September to December)
The rainy season is not a write-off, but it needs a different kind of plan. Travel guides describe the rain as coming in spells and showers rather than all day, every day, while VietnamTourism.com notes that storms in this period mostly pass north or south of the city, with their outer bands still bringing days of heavy rain and wind. Nobody can promise a storm-free week, so the plan should absorb one bad day.
- Book morning tee times. If the day turns wet, an early start gives you the best chance of finishing the round.
- Leave a spare day. Three rounds in five days can absorb one lost day; three rounds in three days cannot.
- Keep Vinpearl flexible. If the sea is rough on the planned day, swap the island course for Diamond Bay or KN.
- Watch the forecast together. We recommend checking the forecast with us a few days out, so tee times can move before the day rather than on it.
Our five-day Nha Trang trip with three rounds and a free beach day already has that spare day built in, which is why it suits the wetter months better than a short break.
Best tee times in Nha Trang
With temperatures around 25–30°C most of the year and stronger sun from May to August, the time of day matters more than the month for comfort.
| Tee time | Best for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 06:00–08:00 | Hot months, rainy-season mornings | The coolest part of the day; Vinpearl lists tee times from 06:00 |
| 08:00–11:00 | February to April | Comfortable in the mild months; warmer by the back nine |
| Late afternoon and evening | May to August | ANARA Binh Tien, with floodlights on all 18 holes |
Midday starts are the ones to avoid from May to August. Caddies and carts are compulsory at all four courses and included in our packages, so nobody walks a full round in the heat.
Nha Trang vs Da Nang by season
Both cities sit on the central coast and share the same broad pattern, so switching between them does not escape the rainy season.
| Nha Trang | Da Nang | |
|---|---|---|
| Driest, most comfortable | January to August; best February to April | Broadly February to August |
| Wettest | September to December, peak October and November | Broadly September to December |

What to pack for golf in Nha Trang
- Sun protection all year: hat, sunglasses and high-SPF sunscreen.
- Breathable shirts and a spare glove or two; humidity soaks gloves quickly.
- A light rain jacket and waterproof shoes from September to December.
- A small bag for the boat to Vinpearl, with anything you do not want splashed.
- Your own clubs, if you prefer, after checking your airline's golf bag allowance.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the best month to play golf in Nha Trang?›
March and April are the most reliable: dry, sunny and with calm seas for the boat to Vinpearl Golf. February is close behind. The whole dry season, January to August, is good for golf.
2. Can I play golf in Nha Trang in October or November?›
Yes, but they are the wettest months and storms are possible. Book morning tee times, leave a spare day and favour the mainland courses, KN Golf Links and Diamond Bay, on rough-sea days.
3. Is it windy at KN Golf Links?›
KN is an open links beside the sea, so whatever wind is blowing affects play more than at the other courses. Storm bands from September to November can bring strong wind.
4. Does the Vinpearl Golf boat run in bad weather?›
It depends on sea conditions on the day. Seas are rougher from September to December, when boat trips can be limited. We monitor conditions and switch the round to a mainland course if needed.
5. Is there night golf in Nha Trang?›
Yes. ANARA Binh Tien Golf Club has floodlights on all 18 holes, which makes late-afternoon and evening rounds possible in the hot months.
6. How hot is Nha Trang for golf?›
Typically about 25–30°C, with May to August the hottest stretch. Early-morning tee times or evening golf at ANARA keep the heat manageable.
