Dalat Palace Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course in the centre of Da Lat, laid out on pine-covered hills beside Xuan Huong Lake at around 1,500 metres. It plays like an old-school parkland course, just at altitude. Fairways roll over pine-covered hills, water comes into play on several holes, and 72 bunkers guard the landing areas and greens. At 6,596 yards from the back it is not long, so positioning off the tee matters more than raw distance.
The greens are the talking point. Dalat Palace uses bentgrass, a cool-climate grass you almost never find in Vietnam, and it tends to roll smoother than the Bermuda or paspalum greens common at lowland courses. Spend a few minutes on the putting green before you tee off.
