Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club sits on Van Son Lake in Chuong My district, about 45km – close to an hour’s drive – southwest of Hanoi. Two 18-hole courses share the grounds with the five-star Wyndham Sky Lake Resort, so guests can play golf and never leave the property to sleep, eat, or use the spa.

Sky Course vs. Lake Course
| Course | Access | Par | Length |
| Sky Course | Open to all visiting golfers | 72 | Around 7,500 yards |
| Lake Course | Members only | 72 | Up to about 7,557 yards |
Ahn Moon Hwan’s design firm Bori Golf Design laid out both courses, which opened in 2012 under management from IMG. The Sky Course is the one visitors actually play – 18 holes, par 72, routed across rolling ground with the limestone hills of Chuong My as a backdrop. The Lake Course next door is longer and reserved for club members only; we don’t book tee times there.
What sets Sky Lake apart from most Hanoi courses is the hotel. The five-star Wyndham Sky Lake Resort sits inside the golf property itself, with a pool, spa, and tennis courts a short walk from the clubhouse – not a separate hotel you drive to after your round. For golfers combining a Hanoi stopover with a couple of relaxed days, that on-site arrangement saves a transfer and gives non-golfing companions somewhere to spend the day.
On the golf side, Sky Lake runs a driving range, a chipping and pitching area, and a putting green next to the pro shop. Caddies and golf carts are required for every round, and the club rents clubs and shoes for golfers arriving without their own set.
Vietnam Tourism Association named Sky Lake among the country’s best golf courses two years running through 2016, and the club has picked up other regional recognition since. For visiting golfers, the practical takeaway is simpler: book the Sky Course, plan for the drive out to Chuong My, and consider staying a night at the Wyndham if the round is part of a longer Hanoi trip.
Sky Lake is one of two Hanoi-area courses we work with directly – the other being BRG Kings Island Golf Resort out in Son Tay, which runs 54 holes across three courses without the on-site hotel. Worth comparing if you’re deciding between a golf-and-resort stay and a straight golf trip.
