What Is Vinpearl Golf Phu Quoc Like to Play?
IMG routed the course through a stretch of old hardwood forest in the north of the island, so most holes are framed by tall trees rather than open ground. Streams and reservoirs cross the layout, fairways are gently rolling and comparatively narrow, and the greens are small, raised and guarded closely by bunkers, which puts the emphasis on accurate approach play rather than length. Seashore Paspalum turf handles the coastal climate and gives firm, true surfaces through the dry season.
The signature hole is the par-3 3rd, where the green sits almost as an island in a lake and plays about 145 yards from the blue tees; it is widely regarded as the hardest hole on the course. The course was built as a 27-hole facility, with a third nine known as Sea View, but the main 18-hole championship routing is what most visiting golfers play. It is not unusual to see wildlife from the neighbouring Vinpearl Safari grounds while you play.
Facilities are those of a resort course: a driving range with 14 mat and 6 grass bays, chipping and putting greens, a golf academy with teaching professionals, a pro shop with club and shoe rental, a 150-seat restaurant serving Asian and European dishes, and 132 lockers with showers. Tee times run from early morning to mid-afternoon.
How Do You Get to Vinpearl Golf Phu Quoc?
The course is at Bai Dai on the north-west coast, next to the Vinpearl hotels, VinWonders theme park, Vinpearl Safari and Grand World. Allow about 45 to 50 minutes by car from Phu Quoc International Airport and roughly 45 minutes from Duong Dong town. Guests staying inside the Vinpearl complex are only a few minutes away.
