BRG Legend Hill Golf Resort: Nicklaus Design Twin Greens, Minutes from Noi Bai
BRG Legend Hill Golf Resort sits in Phu Linh, Soc Son District, barely fifteen minutes from Noi Bai International Airport. Designed by Jack Nicklaus as his first project in Vietnam, the course opened in 2015 and remains best known for a design detail found nowhere else in the country: every hole carries two greens.
Twin Greens: A First for Vietnam and Asia
Nicklaus Design built 36 greens across the 18 holes here, a layout first introduced to Vietnam and to Asia at Legend Hill. Superintendents rotate play between the two greens on each hole, so the course changes shape from one round to the next while the resting green gets time to recover. For golfers, it means the same hole can play noticeably different depending on which green is set for the day.
The course plays to a par 72 across 7,068 yards (6,463 meters), routed through low hills that back onto Den Soc, the temple complex dedicated to Saint Giong, one of Vietnam’s Four Immortals. The Legend Hill name borrows directly from that story, and several holes look out toward the temple grounds rather than the resort landscaping found at most Hanoi courses.
Compared to the other three Hanoi courses on this site, Legend Hill’s location is its clearest selling point: BRG Kings Island and Sky Lake both sit 40 kilometers or more west of the city, while Phoenix Golf Resort is further out still near Luong Son. Legend Hill, by contrast, sits close enough to Noi Bai that golfers on a layover or a short business trip can play a full round without losing a day to the drive.
The clubhouse sits on high ground above a lake, and the resort runs night golf for players who want to tee off after the Hanoi heat breaks. On-site accommodation, a spa, a driving range, and mandatory caddie service round out the facilities — closer in spirit to Phoenix’s resort scale than to BRG Kings Island’s course-only setup, though on a smaller footprint than either.
