Halal Food in Da Nang for Golfers (2026): Where to Eat Near Each Course, the Mosque, and How to Plan Friday Tee Times

Muslim travellers having dinner at a halal-friendly restaurant in Da Nang, Vietnam

Last updated: 21 October 2026 · Written by the GoGolfVietnam team in Da Nang, who plan halal-friendly golf trips for Muslim guests

Halal food in Da Nang is easy to find but uneven to verify. Most halal-labelled restaurants sit around An Thuong and My Khe Beach, 20 minutes from Montgomerie Links and BRG. Very few can show a current certificate, golf clubhouses are not halal-certified, and we could not verify a mosque in the city, so plan meals and Friday prayer before you tee off.

Quick Answer

  • Where to eat: the An Thuong streets behind My Khe Beach hold the densest cluster of halal-labelled restaurants, 17 minutes from the airport.
  • Certified: only a handful of venues in the city are reported as certified; at Sun World Ba Na Hills, Bharata is listed as halal-certified by the operator.
  • Clubhouses: none of the five courses below has a halal-certified kitchen or a prayer room.
  • Prayer: prayer rooms exist at Da Nang airport and at Sun World Ba Na Hills; ask us to confirm where Jumu’ah is held before a Friday round.
  • Ramadan 2027: expected from about 8 February, which falls in Da Nang’s cool, dry golf season.

The honest picture: what “halal” means in Da Nang

In Da Nang you will see three different things described as halal, and they are not the same. A halal-certified restaurant holds a certificate from a halal certification body for its kitchen and supply chain. A Muslim-owned or Muslim-run restaurant cooks according to the owner’s own standards but may hold no certificate. A halal-friendly or “halal menu” restaurant is usually a mainstream kitchen that buys halal meat for some dishes and still serves pork or alcohol elsewhere.

The numbers show why the difference matters. A December 2025 report in Bao Van Hoa counted about 40 halal or Indian restaurants aimed at Muslim visitors but only “more than 10” venues with halal certification. Signs and menus rarely say which category a place falls into.

Our rule in this guide is simple. We name a restaurant only when an official or operator source lists it as halal-certified, and we say who that source is. Everywhere else we describe the area, not the business, because we cannot stand behind a certificate we have not seen. If certification matters to you, ask the restaurant to show the certificate and its issuing body; Malaysia’s JAKIM publishes the foreign certification bodies it recognises.

Mosques and prayer rooms in Da Nang

This is where many online guides go wrong. We searched Google Maps and local sources in October 2026 and could not verify a mosque building in Da Nang with a published address and Friday prayer time. The well-known Al-Noor mosque on Hang Luoc Street is in Hanoi, not Da Nang. What we could confirm are prayer rooms:

Prayer space Where Useful for Source
Da Nang International Airport prayer room North side of the terminal, opposite the smoking room Arrival and departure days Google Maps listing and visitor notes, Oct 2026
Sun World Ba Na Hills prayer room Fifth floor of the Arapang building at the top of the hills, with separate areas for men and women A Ba Na Hills golf day combined with the cable car Sun World guide (Aug 2026); Google Maps
Golf clubhouses None of the five courses below Plan prayer times around the round GoGolfVietnam, Oct 2026

For daily prayers, you can pray in your hotel room, and we build gaps into the golf day so Dhuhr and Asr do not clash with the round. For Jumu’ah, which needs a congregation, tell us your dates and we confirm locally where Friday prayer is being held that week. We would rather check for you than send you to an address that does not exist.

Halal options by golf course

The table starts from the An Thuong area, because that is where most halal-labelled restaurants are and where we suggest Muslim guests stay. Drive times were measured on Google Maps on 21 October 2026 in evening traffic; mornings are usually similar or slightly quicker.

Course From An Thuong Nearest option we can stand behind Status How we plan lunch
Montgomerie Links 20 min (11 km) An Thuong restaurant cluster Halal-labelled; certificates vary by restaurant Back in An Thuong by early afternoon
BRG Da Nang Golf Resort 19 min (10 km) An Thuong restaurant cluster Halal-labelled; certificates vary Same as Montgomerie
Hoiana Shores 47 min (33 km) No verified option near the course Clubhouse not halal-certified Late lunch back in Da Nang, or packed food
Ba Na Hills Golf Club 46 min (27 km) Bharata, Sun World Ba Na Hills (Arapang building, 4th floor) Listed as halal-certified by Sun World (Aug 2026); certifier not published Golf in the morning, cable car and lunch at the top
Laguna Golf Lang Co 1 hr 20 min (55 km) No verified option nearby Clubhouse not halal-certified Bring food from Da Nang; eat dinner back in An Thuong

Two notes on the Ba Na Hills row. The cable car base station is about 9 minutes by road from the golf club (Google Maps, October 2026), and Bharata sits inside the Sun World park, so you need a park ticket to reach it. Google Maps lists it as an Indian buffet opening at 10.30am, which suits a golfer who finishes a dawn round by late morning.

Hoiana deserves an honest word too. It is the round most visitors want, and our review of what to expect on the Hoiana Shores links explains why, but it is also the furthest course from the halal cluster except Lang Co. Plan breakfast at the hotel, carry snacks and water, and eat properly back in the city.

Eating at the clubhouse

None of the five clubhouses above holds halal certification, and we do not suggest otherwise. They are ordinary restaurant kitchens rather than halal ones, and they serve alcohol. Some golfers are comfortable ordering seafood or vegetable dishes and asking for no pork products; others prefer not to eat there at all. Both are reasonable, and the choice is yours.

If you want to bring your own food, tell us before the round. Club policies on outside food differ and can change, so we confirm with each club when we book rather than promise it here. Bottled water and a few snacks in your golf bag are normally fine.

A Friday that works: tee time and Jumu’ah

Montgomerie Links fairway near Da Nang, a short drive from the An Thuong halal dining area
Montgomerie Links is 20 minutes from An Thuong, which makes it the easiest Friday course.

For a Friday, pick a course close to the city and start at dawn. A 6am tee time at Montgomerie Links or BRG usually means 18 holes finished before 11am, a 20-minute drive back to An Thuong, and time to wash and change before midday prayer. Once we have confirmed where Jumu’ah is being held that week, we work the transfer around it.

Avoid Hoiana, Ba Na Hills and Laguna Lang Co on Fridays. Each is 45 minutes to well over an hour from the city, which leaves too little margin if the round runs slow. Save them for the other days of the trip.

  • 6:00 tee off at Montgomerie Links or BRG
  • About 10:45 finish, quick shower at the club
  • 11:15 back at the hotel in An Thuong
  • Midday Jumu’ah at the venue we confirmed for that week
  • Afternoon late lunch in An Thuong, then rest or the beach

Ramadan golf in Da Nang

Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on or around 8 February, with Eid al-Fitr around 9 or 10 March, subject to moon sighting (The National, October 2026). That timing is kind to golfers: February and March are among the coolest, driest months on the Da Nang coast.

For fasting golfers we suggest the earliest tee time of the day, finishing before the late-morning sun, then rest until iftar. Ba Na Hills Golf Club is floodlit and has run evening tee times, but its published 2026 evening schedule closed the course at 7pm on most days and 9pm on Wednesdays, so we check the 2027 timetable before promising a round after iftar. For suhoor, we ask your hotel in advance to prepare an early breakfast. Our guide to which months are dry enough for early tee times in Da Nang covers the weather month by month.

Where to stay so halal food is walkable

Stay in the An Thuong area or along the My Khe Beach road between Ngu Hanh Son and Son Tra. From there, halal-labelled restaurants are a short walk, the airport is 17 minutes away and Montgomerie Links and BRG are about 20 minutes. Hoi An is lovely for a day, but basing yourself there puts you further from the halal cluster every evening.

When we book your hotel, we ask about breakfast options without pork, early breakfasts for 5am departures and, in Ramadan, suhoor. Answers vary from hotel to hotel, which is why we ask before you arrive.

Book it as a package

If you would rather not organise all of this yourself, our halal-friendly Muslim golf package for Da Nang covers three rounds with a hotel near An Thuong, transfers and prayer-time scheduling, with no alcohol included and lunches booked at halal-friendly restaurants.
