A junior round in Da Nang starts at 930,000 VND, about US$35, and that figure already includes the cart. It buys nine holes on a weekday at the Norman course at Legend Da Nang, which is the cheapest published junior rate on this coast and, for a child who has never played a full round, the right length anyway.
What follows is every junior number we could verify from a club’s own rate card, plus an honest note on the clubs that publish nothing.
Quick Answer
Yes, children can play golf in Da Nang. Legend Da Nang publishes a junior rate for players under 16 that starts at 930,000 VND (about US$35) for nine holes on the Norman course on a weekday and runs to 1,750,000 VND (about US$67) for 18 holes at weekends on the Nicklaus course, cart included. Ba Na Hills runs a separate weekday junior offer that requires at least one adult player in the flight. Other Central Vietnam clubs do not publish junior pricing, so it has to be confirmed when booking. Coaching is available at Montgomerie Links, where under-16s get 20% off an individual lesson.
Can children play the Da Nang courses?
Yes, and at one club the age is written into the rate card rather than left to the starter. Legend Da Nang lists “Junior under 16” as its own guest category on both the Nicklaus and Norman courses, which means a child is a normal booking rather than a favour.
Where clubs differ is the adult rule. Ba Na Hills states plainly that each flight must be accompanied by at least one adult player, so a group of three teenagers cannot go out alone there. Legend Da Nang’s rates page carries no equivalent condition, and we would rather say that than invent one: the page simply does not address it, which is not the same as permission. Ask when you book.
Hoiana Shores, Vinpearl Golf Nam Hoi An and Laguna Golf Lang Co publish no junior rate or age policy at all. They are not closed to children; they just have not put anything in writing that we can quote. If only one parent is playing and the rest of the group is filling the day another way, how the non-golfers in the group fill the same days covers the other half of the trip.
What do junior green fees actually cost?
Between 930,000 and 1,750,000 VND at Legend Da Nang, depending on course, day and how many holes you play. Every figure below is taken from the club’s own rate card, which carries an effective date of 1 December 2025 and states that the junior rate includes the golf cart and all applicable taxes.
| Course | Weekday 9 holes | Weekday 18 holes | Weekend / public holiday 9 holes | Weekend / public holiday 18 holes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Legend Da Nang – Nicklaus | 990,000 VND (~US$38) | 1,650,000 VND (~US$63) | 1,050,000 VND (~US$40) | 1,750,000 VND (~US$67) |

Junior rates apply to players under 16 and include the golf cart. Source: Legend Da Nang official rate card, effective from 01/12/2025, checked 17 September 2026. The four clubs marked “confirm at booking” publish no junior rate of any kind, so we have left those cells empty rather than carry a number across from another course.
Promotion — verify before you book
Ba Na Hills Golf Club is running a “Junior Golf Special Offer” at 1,350,000 VND per 18 holes (about US$51), inclusive of tax, covering green fee, caddie fee, a shared golf cart and one bottle of water. The conditions are specific:
- Junior golfers under 16 only.
- Weekdays only, Monday to Friday, any tee time.
- Each flight must be accompanied by at least one adult player.
- Valid 4 May to 30 September 2026, subject to course availability.
Bookings go through the club on +84 236 3924 888. This is a dated promotion rather than a standing rate, so confirm it is still running before you plan a day around it. Source: Ba Na Hills Golf Club, checked 17 September 2026.
Two practical notes on the table. The nine-hole column is the one most parents overlook, and at 930,000 VND it costs less than half the 18-hole weekend rate. And because the Legend junior rate already includes the cart, there is no separate buggy line to budget for, which is not true of adult bookings at every club in the region.
If you would rather have the rounds, hotel and transfers quoted as a single number for the whole group, a family trip put together as one booking is where most parents start.
Which course suits a child who is still learning?
Start with nine holes, and start inland. A first full 18 in Central Vietnam heat is how a child decides golf is not for them.
Legend Da Nang is the practical first choice for one reason beyond price: it sells nine holes to juniors as a listed product, so nobody has to negotiate a short round at the desk. Both of its courses sit on the coast, though, which brings the second consideration.
Sea breeze is the thing that breaks a beginner’s confidence fastest. A child who carries the ball 100 yards loses a much larger share of that distance into wind than an adult does, and the links-style holes on this coast are exposed by design. Ba Na Hills sits inland at the foot of the mountain on rolling ground, and while the terrain asks for more walking, it is sheltered from the worst of the coastal wind. Our team normally sends first-time juniors there on a weekday, or to a coastal course in the early morning before the breeze gets up.
For the fuller picture on how each course plays before you commit a child to one, a difficulty read on each Da Nang course goes hole by hole.
Where can a child take lessons or practise?
Two places, and they do different jobs. Montgomerie Links runs the region’s published coaching programme; Ba Na Hills has the range with teaching studios attached.
At the Montgomerie Links Golf Academy, children under 16 receive a 20% discount on an individual lesson. The published rates with a local coach, quoted nett, are 620,000 VND (about US$24) for 30 minutes, 935,000 VND (about US$36) for an hour, 3,900,000 VND for five hours and 7,150,000 VND for ten. An on-course nine-hole lesson is 1,465,000 VND, excluding the golf fee itself. The resident coach is Vo Trung Hai, a VGA member with 15 years in coaching who has been on the Montgomerie team since 2008. Bookings go through +84 235 3941 942. The Ba Na Hills driving range is the better option if what you want is an hour of hitting rather than a lesson: 18 covered bays, two teaching studios, and a PGA Professional on site. It is also the place to test whether a child enjoys the swing at all before you commit to a green fee.
One thing we tell parents plainly: a 30-minute lesson before the first round does more for a nine-year-old than an extra nine holes does. GoGolfVietnam books the lesson and the tee time as one item for exactly that reason.
Can you rent clubs and shoes for a child?
At the Ba Na Hills range, yes, junior sets are available alongside adult sets. That is the only junior rental we have confirmed in writing anywhere in Central Vietnam.
Everywhere else, ask before you fly. Adult rental sets are standard at every course here, but a set cut down for a child is not, and turning up to find only adult clubs behind the counter is a wasted morning. Call ahead or have us confirm it in writing with the club.
If your child plays regularly, bring their own clubs. A junior who is used to a particular set will struggle far more with unfamiliar, over-long clubs than an adult would, and the airline baggage cost is usually less than the aggravation. This is the one piece of equipment advice we give without hedging.
How do you plan the days when parent and child both want to play?
Two patterns work, and they solve different problems.
Split the day. Parents take an early 18 while the child sleeps, then the child plays nine in the late afternoon when the heat drops. This suits a child who is not yet ready to keep pace with adults for four hours, and it keeps the adult round competitive rather than supervisory. At Legend Da Nang the junior nine costs 930,000 to 1,050,000 VND depending on the day, so the second round is a small line item.
Play together on a weekday. Ba Na Hills requires an adult in the flight anyway, so the offer and the family plan point the same direction: one parent, one child, Monday to Friday, 18 holes. This is the better option for a teenager who already plays and wants a real round rather than a supervised one.
Either way, book the child’s slot at the same time as the adults’. Starters can usually add a junior to an existing flight, but a separate afternoon nine on a busy weekend is harder to find at short notice than parents expect. Among the packages that include Ba Na Hills, where the junior offer applies, the itinerary that plays Ba Na Hills is the one most family groups adapt.
