This Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc golf package plays 5 rounds in 7 days: three courses around the city, then two on the island after a one-hour flight. City first, beach last, and the December to March dry season suits both ends. More city options are on our Ho Chi Minh City golf packages page.
Overview
Itinerary
Your driver meets you at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN). District 1 is about 9 km away, under half an hour outside rush hour. Nothing is booked tonight.
East over the river into Dong Nai, roughly an hour and 34 km from the hotel. Long Thanh Golf Club has 36 holes by Golfplan; we confirm the Hill or the Lake course with your tee time.
North-west to Cu Chi, about 35 km and a little over an hour. Vinpearl Golf Leman opened its North Course in October 2025, a par 72 by Golfplan, so it is the newest course on the trip.
Check out and play Tan Son Nhat Golf Course, 36 holes by Nelson & Haworth right beside the airport. The domestic terminal is about 25 minutes from the clubhouse, so an early afternoon flight works. The flight takes about an hour; your Phu Quoc driver takes you 50 minutes north to Bai Dai.
An easy morning: Vinpearl Golf Phu Quoc is about 2.4 km from the resort. IMG designed it on seashore paspalum, and the par 3 3rd plays to an island green.
No golf. VinWonders is under a kilometre from the resort and Vinpearl Safari about 6 km away, or just stay on the sand.
Ten to fifteen minutes to Eschuri Vung Bau Golf Resort, the island’s newest course, with holes 14 and 15 on the sea. Phu Quoc airport is about 45 minutes from the clubhouse. Fly home from Phu Quoc if your airline serves it, or connect through Ho Chi Minh City.

Why the city comes first
Ending on the beach means the last three nights are the slow ones. It also lets us use Tan Son Nhat on the travel day: the course is next to the airport, so you still get a round in before the flight.
The honest trade-offs
You check in twice and take one domestic flight. In the city, Long Thanh and Leman are each an hour or more away once traffic builds. Phu Quoc has only two courses, which is why the island half has a beach day instead of a third round.
Visa: the part people get wrong
Phu Quoc’s 30-day visa-free entry only applies when you fly straight into Phu Quoc from abroad and stay on the island. Arriving in Ho Chi Minh City first means normal Vietnam rules: you need an e-visa unless your passport is already visa-exempt, as Singapore and Malaysia passports are for 30 days.
Season, Lunar New Year and an eighth day
December to March is dry in both places. Lunar New Year 2027 falls on 6 February, when tee times and flights fill early. Want more? An eighth day at Ho Tram, about two hours from the city, can be added before the flight to the island.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do I need a visa if I fly into Saigon and then go to Phu Quoc? ›
Yes, unless your passport is visa-exempt for Vietnam. The Phu Quoc visa-free rule only covers direct international arrivals on the island, so arriving in Ho Chi Minh City needs an e-visa.
2. Is the domestic flight included? ›
No. It is about an hour with more than 20 flights a day, and we help you choose one that fits the Tan Son Nhat round.
3. What about my golf bag on the domestic flight? ›
Vietnam Airlines carries one golf set up to 23 kg free on domestic routes for most fares. Low-cost carriers count it as checked baggage, so buy the allowance with your ticket.
4. Can I do Phu Quoc first and the city after? ›
Yes. If you fly into Phu Quoc visa-free and then travel to Ho Chi Minh City, you will need an e-visa for the mainland part unless your passport is exempt.
5. Which months are best? ›
December to March, the dry season in both places. Book early around Lunar New Year.
6. Can I add Ho Tram? ›
Yes, as an eighth day for The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip. Ask us and we will send the updated plan and price.
