Hanoi Golf Trip from Singapore: Flights, Costs & 4-Day Itinerary (2026)

Golfer teeing off across a lake toward limestone hills at a golf course in northern Vietnam

Last updated: 7 October 2026

Leave Changi after breakfast and you can be on a Nicklaus-designed course outside Hanoi the same afternoon. A Hanoi golf trip from Singapore starts with a direct flight of about 3.5 hours, needs no visa on a Singapore passport, and fits three rounds into a four-day long weekend. The two things that decide whether it goes well are the month you pick and how many of your rounds fall on a Saturday or Sunday.

Quick Answer

Four airlines fly Singapore to Hanoi non-stop in about 3.5 hours. Singapore passport holders enter Vietnam visa-free for up to 30 days. Two nights gives you two rounds; three nights gives you three, or four with a round on arrival day. The best months are February to April and September to November, when Hanoi sits at 18–28°C. Weekend green fees run close to double weekday ones.

Which airlines fly from Singapore to Hanoi?

Four: Singapore Airlines, Scoot, Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet all fly Changi to Noi Bai non-stop. The flight takes about 3 hours 30 minutes, and published schedules for October 2026 show around 41 flights a week, roughly six a day.

Airline Direct? Flight time Golf bag
Singapore Airlines Yes About 3.5 hours Counts toward your checked allowance; hard case required
Scoot Yes About 3.5 hours No bag in the basic Economy fare; add a 20–40 kg tier when you book
Vietnam Airlines Yes About 3.5 hours One golf set up to 23 kg free on most fares; confirm on your ticket
Vietjet Yes About 3.5 hours No free golf allowance; a 20 kg tier is about 480,000 VND (~$18) booked online

Route and frequency checked against published schedules in October 2026; golf bag rules are from our airline baggage guide, last checked in July 2026. Timetables change by season, so confirm the exact flight when you book.

One detail helps more than it sounds: Hanoi is one hour behind Singapore. A 9 am departure plus 3.5 hours in the air lands at about 11:30 am local time, not 12:30 pm. You gain an hour on the way up and give it back on the way home.

Do Singaporeans need a visa for Vietnam?

No. Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that Singapore passport holders do not require a visa to enter Vietnam and can stay up to 30 days per entry. A long golf weekend sits well inside that.

  • At immigration: the same advisory suggests checking that your passport is stamped with the correct dates before you leave the counter.
  • Singapore PRs on another passport: the rule follows the passport, not the residence. Many nationalities need an e-visa, applied for on Vietnam’s official immigration portal before travel.
  • Entry is always at the discretion of Vietnamese immigration officers, as it is anywhere.

Visa information checked against the MFA Singapore travel page, updated 6 October 2026.

Which flight times work with tee times?

Fairway and white sand bunkers below the clubhouse at BRG Legend Hill Golf Resort, 10–15 minutes from Noi Bai Airport
BRG Legend Hill in Soc Son, the closest course to Noi Bai Airport.

A morning flight up and an afternoon or evening flight home. Land around midday and the arrival day can hold a round; leave late on the last day and the morning can too.

The reason is one course. BRG Legend Hill sits 10–15 minutes from the Noi Bai terminal, closer than your hotel, which is 30–45 minutes away in central Hanoi. It is a par-72, 7,068-yard Nicklaus Design layout with twin greens on every hole, and it has been floodlit since October 2015. Clear immigration by early afternoon and you can tee off before the bags reach the city.

  • Land by midday: an afternoon round at Legend Hill, finishing under lights if needed. We confirm the last lit tee time at booking, because it changes with the season.
  • Land mid-afternoon: skip the airport-side round. Check in, eat, and take a floodlit nine at Long Bien, 20–30 minutes from the Old Quarter.
  • Fly home after lunch or later: play Long Bien at first light on the last morning, then allow 30–45 minutes from the city to the airport plus check-in time for a golf bag.
  • Fly home in the morning: no golf that day. Do not try.

GoGolfVietnam, a local golf tour operator based in Da Nang that also runs trips around Hanoi, plans arrival and departure days around the 10–15 minute Legend Hill transfer for exactly this reason. Send us your flight numbers first and the tee times second; the Hanoi golf breaks we arrange for golfers flying in from Changi are all built in that order.

A 4-day Hanoi golf itinerary from Singapore

Three rounds at three different courses, with an optional fourth on the day you land. This is the shape that suits a Singapore long weekend with one day of leave added.

Day Flight / transfer Golf Evening
Day 1 Morning flight from Changi; land around midday. Airport to central Hanoi 30–45 min Optional: BRG Legend Hill, 10–15 min from the terminal Old Quarter dinner
Day 2 45–60 min drive west BRG Kings Island Free in the city
Day 3 About 1 hour drive Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club Free, or a floodlit nine at Long Bien
Day 4 20–30 min to the course, then 30–45 min to Noi Bai Long Bien, early tee time Afternoon or evening flight home

Drive times are from central Hanoi and match our own transfer planning. The order matters. The two long drives sit in the middle of the trip, and the city course is saved for the last morning so you are never far from the airport with a flight to catch.

If you can choose your dates, start on a Thursday rather than a Friday. That puts two of the three rounds on weekday rates, which matters more in Hanoi than almost anywhere else in the region. This is the same plan as our 4-day, 3-night Hanoi package for long weekends, with tee times, transfers and hotel already arranged.

The 3-day long-weekend version

Two rounds, or three if you land by midday. With only two nights, drop the furthest course and keep the flagship and the city one.

  • Day 1: morning flight; Legend Hill in the afternoon, or check in and take a floodlit nine at Long Bien.
  • Day 2: BRG Kings Island, 45–60 minutes west of the city.
  • Day 3: Long Bien at first light, then the airport.

We normally recommend three days only when leave is impossible. The flight is 3.5 hours each way, so a fourth day changes the ratio of golf to travel far more than it changes the cost.

What does a Hanoi golf trip from Singapore cost?

For green fees, plan on roughly 5.5 million VND (~$210) for three weekday rounds, or about 8.3 million VND (~$310) if two of the three fall on a weekend. Flights and hotel sit on top and vary by date.

Line 2026 benchmark Note
Weekday green fee ~1,850,000 VND (~$70) Caddie and buggy included
Weekend green fee ~3,200,000 VND (~$120) Close to double the weekday rate
Club rental 800,000 VND (~$30) a round Long Bien’s published rate; other clubs confirm at booking
Caddie tip, food, drinks Not included Cash on the day
Hotel and transfers Quoted per trip Varies by district and season

Green fee benchmarks are BRG Kings Island Lakeside rates for 2026, the level most Hanoi clubs price around. Legend Hill costs more than most Hanoi rounds. Long Bien’s rental list was published for 20 April to 30 September 2026, so we confirm the current figure when we book.

Here is the trap for Singapore golfers specifically. A public-holiday long weekend puts most of your rounds on Saturday and Sunday, when Hanoi courses fill with local members and the rate nearly doubles. The same three rounds cost about 2.7 million VND (~$100) more per golfer than they would midweek. GoGolfVietnam builds Hanoi itineraries around weekday tee times wherever the flight schedule allows, and a Thursday start is usually how. For each line in detail, see the line-by-line Hanoi golf budget.

Which months are best, matched to Singapore holidays?

February to April and September to November, when Hanoi runs at 18–28°C. Unlike Singapore, northern Vietnam has a real winter and a properly hot summer, so the public holiday you pick decides the golf you get.

Singapore long weekend Dates Hanoi at that time Our view
Deepavali 2026 Sat 7 – Mon 9 Nov 2026 Autumn, dry and mild One of the best of the year; book early
Christmas 2026 Fri 25 – Sun 27 Dec 2026 Cold mornings, 10–15°C, fog possible Good golf; pack layers, tee off at 9 or 10 am
New Year 2027 Fri 1 – Sun 3 Jan 2027 Winter, same as above Fine with a late-morning start
Chinese New Year 2027 Sat 6 – Mon 8 Feb 2027 Tet in Vietnam; courses open, hotels and transfers tight Possible, but book well ahead
Good Friday 2027 Fri 26 – Sun 28 Mar 2027 Spring, warming; light drizzle possible Very good
Hari Raya Haji 2027 Sat 15 – Mon 17 May 2027 Hot and humid Dawn tee times or night golf only
National Day 2027 Sat 7 – Mon 9 Aug 2027 Peak summer heat Dawn tee times or night golf only
Deepavali 2027 Thu 28 Oct 2027; add Friday for four days October, our team’s most reliable month The pick of the calendar

Holiday dates are from Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower list, checked in October 2026. Where a holiday falls on a Sunday, MOM treats the Monday as the day off.

Two notes from our own planning. In December and January, fog over the lakes can hold the first groups for 30–90 minutes, so our team books 9 or 10 am starts through those months and the problem largely disappears. And golfers flying up from Singapore routinely pack for beach weather; a Hanoi winter morning needs a proper layer.

Hanoi or Da Nang from Singapore?

Da Nang is the shorter flight and the beach trip; Hanoi is the city trip with four seasons and a course beside the airport. Both work for a long weekend.

From Singapore Hanoi Da Nang
Direct flight About 3.5 hours, four airlines About 2 hours 50 minutes, three airlines
Best months February–April, September–November February–April
Weekend green fees Close to double weekday Higher than weekday, but nowhere near double
Off the course Old Quarter, food, history Beach, Hoi An

October shows the difference best: it is Hanoi’s most reliable month and Da Nang’s wettest. If the coast suits your group better, we have set out the same long weekend flown to Da Nang instead.

Should you bring your clubs or rent in Hanoi?

For two rounds, rent. For three or more, bring your own if your fare already carries the bag. Long Bien publishes its rental set at 800,000 VND (~$30) a round, so three rounds of rental cost about $90.

The airline decides the rest. Vietnam Airlines carries one golf set free on most fares, Singapore Airlines counts it inside your normal allowance and requires a hard case, and Scoot and Vietjet charge for the weight. Our guide to whether to rent a set in Hanoi or fly your own works through the break-even round by round.
