Which Vietnamese city should a Muslim golfer choose? Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are the only two of the six golf cities below with a mosque we have verified, so they are the safest bases if your trip includes a Friday. Da Nang has the most halal restaurants and six golf clubs but, as of October 2026, prayer rooms rather than a confirmed mosque. Phu Quoc, Nha Trang and Da Lat work for resort-style trips with halal-friendly meals, but none has a mosque.
Quick Answer
- Friday in the trip? Base it in Hanoi (Masjid Al-Noor) or Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon Central Mosque).
- Most halal food + most courses: Da Nang, with prayer rooms at the airport and Ba Na Hills.
- Beach resort with family: Phu Quoc or Nha Trang, both with direct flights from Kuala Lumpur.
- Cool weather: Da Lat, but the smallest halal scene.
- Ramadan 2027 is expected to run from about 8 February to 9 March.

What does “halal-friendly” mean on a golf trip in Vietnam?
In Vietnam, “halal-friendly” almost never means a certified kitchen at the golf course. It means three different things, and it helps to know which one you are getting.
- Halal-certified: a restaurant holds a certificate from a recognised body. In Vietnam these are few, and mostly in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
- Muslim-owned or halal-run: a Malaysian, Indian, Cham or Middle Eastern family runs the kitchen and serves no pork or alcohol, without a certificate on the wall.
- Halal-friendly resort: a hotel offers halal counters or halal-ingredient dishes on request. Vinpearl’s resorts in Phu Quoc and Nha Trang are the clearest examples.
No golf club we work with in Vietnam has a halal-certified clubhouse kitchen or a dedicated prayer room. Golfers usually pray in a quiet corner of the locker room or back at the hotel, and plan lunch around the round. GoGolfVietnam, a local golf tour operator based in Da Nang, now runs a halal-friendly golf package in each of the six cities in this guide, and every one of them is built on that honest starting point.
Which city is best for Muslim golfers? The comparison table
The short version: pick Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City for Friday prayer, Da Nang for food and course choice, and the three resort destinations for a family beach week.

City by city: mosques, halal food and golf
Each section below says what we have verified, what we have not, and which of our packages fits.
Hanoi: the mosque is a short walk from the Old Quarter hotels
Masjid Al-Noor at 12 Hang Luoc, built in 1885, is the only mosque in Hanoi and northern Vietnam. From a hotel on Hang Buom it is a seven-minute walk. Halal food is limited to a small group of restaurants in the Old Quarter, one of which a national tourism source lists as certified.
Golf is the bigger surprise. Long Bien is about 20 minutes from the Old Quarter and has floodlights, so a Friday tee time at dawn still gets you back for Jumu’ah. Sky Lake and BRG Kings Island are 75–90 minutes out. Our 4-day Hanoi itinerary that starts at Masjid Al-Noor puts the Friday round at Long Bien for that reason. Winter (January and February) is cool and often misty, so plan for layers.
Da Nang: the most halal food, but no confirmed mosque
Da Nang has the widest halal choice of any city here: a 2025 Vietnamese press report counted around 40 halal or Indian restaurants, more than 10 of them certified. Most cluster in the An Thuong and My Khe beach area, 15–20 minutes from Montgomerie Links and Legend Da Nang. Our course-by-course halal food map for Da Nang goes into the details.
The mosque question needs a straight answer. In October 2026 we could not verify a mosque in Da Nang. There are prayer rooms at Da Nang airport and on the fifth floor of the Arapang building at Sun World Ba Na Hills. If your trip includes a Friday, we confirm where Jumu’ah is held that week. Six clubs, including floodlit Ba Na Hills, make this the best course choice of the six cities, and the alcohol-free Da Nang Muslim golf itinerary is our longest-running halal package.
Ho Chi Minh City: a mosque next to the hotels and an easy halal lunch
The Saigon Central Mosque (Jamia al-Muslimin) at 66 Dong Du, District 1, dates from 1935 and is about 300 metres from Hotel Grand Saigon. Halal restaurants cluster on the same streets. The city has other mosques, but Dong Du is the one most visiting golfers use.
Five courses are within reach, from Tan Son Nhat (near the airport) to Vietnam Golf & Country Club, about 45 minutes away. A Friday round should start early and finish by late morning. Our three-round Saigon halal golf break plays Vietnam Golf & Country Club on the Friday for that reason.

Phu Quoc: halal at the resort, no mosque on the island
We know of no mosque on Phu Quoc, so a Friday on the island has no Jumu’ah. What Phu Quoc does well is resort halal: Vinpearl publishes halal counters at its buffets and a halal-ingredient room-service menu, without naming a certifying body. A few Malaysian- and Indian-run restaurants operate in Duong Dong town.
Both courses, Vinpearl Golf and Eschuri Vung Bau, are 5–10 minutes from the north-island resorts, and Eschuri is floodlit. We plan our Phu Quoc halal-friendly resort golf trip from Saturday to Tuesday so that no Friday falls on the island.

Nha Trang: an island resort with its own halal restaurant
Nha Trang has no mosque; the nearest Muslim Cham villages are more than 100 km south. The strongest halal option is inside the Vinpearl resort on Hon Tre island, whose Halal Viet Flavor restaurant says it cooks to halal standards (no certifying body is named). There are more halal places along Nguyen Thien Thuat and Tran Phu in town.
Four courses are within reach, including KN Golf Links near Cam Ranh airport. Our Nha Trang Muslim golf package on Hon Tre keeps you on the island for the halal meals and crosses by boat for golf.
Da Lat: cool golf and a small halal scene
Da Lat has no mosque. A handful of small halal restaurants, run by Malaysian or Cham Muslim families, sit in the centre, and the nearest is about four minutes on foot from Dalat Palace Heritage. We could not verify a certificate for any of them.
The draw is the climate and three good courses: Dalat Palace, SAM Tuyen Lam and The Dalat at 1200. AirAsia flies direct from Kuala Lumpur about four times a week, and our highland Da Lat golf trip for Muslim travellers is timed around those flights. Singapore travellers connect through Ho Chi Minh City.
Sapa: not recommended. There is no mosque and very little halal food in the mountains, so we do not run a Muslim package there.
How do you plan golf around Friday prayer in Vietnam?
Book a dawn tee time on Friday in a city with a mosque, and finish by late morning. Where there is no mosque, plan the golf days from Saturday to Thursday.
| City | Mosque | Jumu’ah time | Friday course | Sample Friday |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hanoi | Masjid Al-Noor | Around midday (no official timetable published) | Long Bien, about 20 min away | Tee off at first light → hotel → mosque on foot |
| Ho Chi Minh City | Saigon Central Mosque | Around midday (no official timetable published) | Vietnam Golf & Country Club, about 45 min | First tee time → back to District 1 by late morning |
| Da Nang | Not confirmed | Location confirmed each week | Montgomerie Links or Legend Da Nang, about 20 min from An Thuong | Rest day, or early round once Jumu’ah is confirmed |
| Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Lat | None | — | — | Fly Saturday, golf Sunday to Wednesday |
In our experience, the simplest fix is choosing the departure day. A Thursday arrival in Hanoi, or a Saturday departure for Phu Quoc, removes most of the Friday problem before it starts.
Can you play golf in Vietnam during Ramadan 2027?
Yes. Ramadan 2027 is expected to start around 8 February and end with Eid al-Fitr around 9–10 March, depending on the moon sighting. Every city in this guide is in, or close to, its best golf season at that time.
During the fast, tee off at first light and finish before the midday heat. A few courses have floodlights for a round after iftar: Long Bien in Hanoi, Ba Na Hills and Legend Da Nang (lit nights vary, so we confirm when booking), and Eschuri in Phu Quoc. We arrange suhoor at the hotel and an iftar table where the resort offers one. Peak February dates also cover the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, so we recommend booking any of our Da Nang golf trips for Ramadan week early.
Can you visit three mosques in one trip?
Two, reliably: Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Our 8-day Vietnam Muslim golf tour across Hanoi, Da Nang and Saigon plays six rounds in three cities and is designed so that the Friday falls in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, never in Da Nang. Domestic flights take about 1 hour 20 minutes between each city.
Flying in from Malaysia, Singapore or Indonesia
Kuala Lumpur has direct flights to all six cities. Singapore flies direct to Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc and, from 2026, Nha Trang. Indonesian golfers fly direct from Jakarta to Ho Chi Minh City and, since 2026, Da Nang. Malaysian, Singaporean and Indonesian passport holders currently enter Vietnam visa-free for 30 days.

What we arrange, and what we can’t promise
We are a tour operator, so we are clear about the line between what we control and what the clubs and hotels control.
- We arrange: hotels chosen for distance to a mosque or halal food, early Friday tee times, alcohol-free inclusions, halal lunch stops and suhoor or iftar where the hotel offers it.
- We can’t promise: a halal-certified clubhouse kitchen, a prayer room at the course, or a certified kitchen at any hotel. We request pork-free breakfast options in writing.
- Alcohol: none is included in any of our Muslim packages.
Our guests usually tell us the honest version is more useful than a “fully halal” label. They know where they stand before they land.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is Vietnam Muslim-friendly for golfers?›
Yes, with planning. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have mosques, Da Nang has the most halal restaurants, and the resort islands offer halal-friendly hotel dining. Golf clubhouses are not halal-certified, so lunch and prayer are planned around the round.
2. Are there mosques in Da Nang or Phu Quoc?›
As of October 2026 we could not verify a mosque in Da Nang; there are prayer rooms at the airport and at Sun World Ba Na Hills. We know of no mosque on Phu Quoc.
3. Is halal food easy to find in Vietnam?›
It is easiest in Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Phu Quoc and Nha Trang rely mainly on Vinpearl resort restaurants, and Da Lat has only a handful of small family-run places.
4. Can I pray at Vietnamese golf courses?›
No course we work with has a dedicated prayer room. Most golfers pray in a quiet corner of the locker room or at the hotel, and we plan tee times around prayer.
5. Which Vietnamese city is best for Muslim travellers?›
Ho Chi Minh City for a short break with a mosque next to the hotels, Hanoi for culture and Friday prayer, and Da Nang for the most halal food and the most golf courses.
6. Can I play golf in Vietnam during Ramadan?›
Yes. Ramadan 2027 is expected to run from about 8 February to 9 March. Tee off at first light, and ask us about floodlit rounds after iftar at Long Bien, Ba Na Hills, Legend Da Nang or Eschuri.
7. Do your Muslim golf packages include alcohol?›
No. None of our Muslim golf packages include alcohol, and we request pork-free breakfast options from the hotel in writing.
